“Game On” in South Glengarry
Meet our Athletes
Camden McCuaig
Age: 13 Grade: 8
School: Char-Lan District High
School
Camden McCuaig, this month’s Game On South
Glengarry athlete, plays hockey, golf, and baseball.
“This is my second year playing hockey for the AAA
Eastern Ontario Wild, I am a member at Summerheights
Golf Links, and I play baseball for the Cornwall River
Rats.”
Camden started playing hockey when he was 4. At
age 11, he took up golf. Just last year, Camden started
playing baseball with the River Rats. “My biggest
accomplishments in hockey are making the AAA Wild
team and winning the Most Dedicated award for the 2019
AA Rapids team. In golf, I won the Junior Club Championship this past summer.”
A natural athlete, Camden works hard and tries to have fun when playing. His long-term athletic goals
include playing for as long as he can, at the highest level he can in both hockey and golf. His current
goal is to continue to work hard with Gibbs Training Systems and his AAA team and eventually make
the U18 team. In golf, Camden hopes to participate in some tournaments this coming summer.
The CLDHS student, who is a big fan of Phys. Ed., isn’t quite sure what he would like to do in terms of
a career choice yet, but he would love to work in the sports world somehow. “I might like to maybe be
a physiotherapist or own a sports training facility someday.”
As far as free time away from school and sports, Camden likes to hang out with his friends and family,
ride around in his golf cart and four-wheeler, build things with his grandpa, and spend time with his dog,
Matty.
