Gill McDonald

August’s Game On athlete is Williamstown’s
Gill McDonald. A student going into Grade
10 at CLDHS, Gill is a sports enthusiast. “I
enjoy playing hockey, soccer, volleyball,
golf, badminton, and I like to do cross-

country running,” he states. “When it comes
to preferring individual or team sports, I’d
have to say I enjoy playing team sports more.
You get to spend time with friends, and they
help you improve. To me sports is about being
part of a team, adding skill, and getting better
together.”
One sport that Gill says he’s never played but would like to try is baseball.
Presently, Gill plays soccer with one of the two Char-Lan U19 GSL squads.
During the winter months, he plays hockey with the Char-Lan Hockey
Association. He has also taken up refereeing hockey. “If I never would have
gotten involved in different sports, I wouldn’t know as many people or have
as many skills to be proud of,” Gill says. “I like to be involved with sports
