in a Track and Field event in the Spring WINTER TIRES
SMackenzie Shoniker, age 10, to share R R
a favorite sports memory. After much
thought she shared that she participated
of 2014 in Russell and there were 8 • FREE Alignment Check

Public School, she was asked to compete • FREE Complete
at the sixth grade level for the 800 metre Vehicle Report Card
race. She came in second place even though
the kids she competed against were all a year We will not be undersold on tires
older than she was. She was quite pleased with
the results. At the same event, she and her friends
participated in the 4x400 metre relay at the fifth grade
level. She and her friends did not win first place, but came in a close second and were
very happy with that result. Mackenzie was delighted to compete with her friends; it is
a memory she and her friends will always treasure.
Mackenzie is also an avid swimmer. She is in her second season with the Cornwall Sea
Lions Swim Club. In her rookie season she learned that placing the top 10 in a race is
difficult. Such results have not deterred her because she loves to swim and compete.
This swimming season, Mackenzie traveled to Nepean for the NKB Fall Invitational
swim meet. Against a field of 35 swimmers, she managed to place sixth overall in the
50 metre breaststroke. After not finishing the top 10 all of last season, Mackenzie’s 711 Pitt Street, CORNWALL
hard work and determination paid off. She hopes to have many more memorable mo- 613-932-2584
