Rookie of the Month
Samuel Pilon - Cornwall Minor Hockey Association.
Sports Energy’s Rookie of the Month is
Samuel Pilon. Sam is seven years old and
plays hockey with the Cornwall Minor
Hockey Association. He is in last year of the
IP program. He has been concentrating on
furthering his hockey skills with an additional
hour of skating with Own the Ice and some
games every two weeks. In early February
he participated in his first-ever hockey
tournament hosted by the Char-Lan Rebels.
The Cornwall Colts dominated. The Colts
won all four of their games. They faced the
Char-Lan Rebels White, the NGS Braves,
the Akwesasne Wolves, and the Char-Lan
Rebels Blue. Sam scored over twenty goals
in his first tournament. He scored 5 against NGS, 7 against Char-Lan Blue,
and over ten against the Wolves. Sam is currently in first grade and attends
Marie-Tanguay where he is a great student. He is a huge fan of the Montreal
Canadiens. He hopes to one day follow in his older brother’s footsteps and
