SVR Novice Rapids Golden in St. Catharines

he Seaway Valley Novice
TRapids travelled to St.
Catharines over the holiday
season to play in the Vic Teal AA
Novice Tournament. The team
took the city by storm, winning
the tournament with a 5-1-0
record; scoring 30 goals for and
allowing only 9 against.
The first day of tournament play
saw the Rapids face off against
home team, St. Catharines. The
Seaway team dominated play
early in the game, scoring just
30 seconds into the first period.
From there, the team scored 6
more throughout play, allowing
only 2 against. The Hydro One
final score was 7-2.
The Rapids met up against
Niagara Falls next. The NF
team played tough defence and
shut down Seaway’s numerous
offensive attempts. The Seaway
team was able to notch 2 goals,
but the Niagara Falls’ offensive
pressure earned them 4 goals
resulting in a Hydro One score of
4-2 in favour of NF.

this first day of the tournament
were Alex Delormier and Tristan
Delisle. Assists were earned by
Hunter Thompson, Gabrielle
Bowen, Hayden Mader, and
Warren Lalonde.
