Results of Amateurs – Importance of Amateur Boxing

pro show Oct. 14th at the Cornwall
Civic Complex our amateurs have
taken a back seat. In actual fact
our amateur boxers had a very busy
August and September.
On August 8th Sahil Waheed of
Champs Eastside lost a barnburner
to tough Lucas Cranston of the
Ottawa Beaver Boxing Club in
Ottawa. I’m sure these two boys
will meet in the future as a rematch
is in order. Great Bout!
August 27th, Isha Waheed in
only her 7th bout, boxed an older
more experienced Sierra Martinez
of Providence Rhode Island USA.
Sierra had attended and placed
at the US Nationals and was very
strong. She tried to overwhelm
Isha early but Isha hung in there,
weathered the storm, and fought
her way back into the bout to close
in a very even 3rd round. Great
bout and great learning experience
for Isha who has a bright future.
