Any Season is Fishing Season for Kelsey Lemire

By Molly Kett Lemire may catch a lot of great
fish, but like most great fishermen,
orty-year-old Kelsey Lemire is reluctant to share the secrets of his
Fworks hard and fishes hard. success.
When Lemire isn’t working at “My favourite place to fish is near
Rona, when the weather is right for it, home here in the St. Lawrence valley.
you can probably catch him, catching Sorry! Can’t tell you exactly where,
fish. it’s a secret,” jokes Lemire.

Lemire has been fishing since a What would he tell those who may

quickly getting a passion for it. very little or as much as you are

type of mood they are in depending
        on weather conditions,” explains
Lemire. “It’s almost in some cases
like solving a puzzle, when you put
all the right elements together you
can have a great day of catching fish,
        not just fishing.”
          One of his earliest fishing
memories go back to when he was a
young lad, looking forward to fishing
and learning every chance he could.

          My earliest fishing memory is
my dad and grandmother taking me
        fishing with them every weekend,”
        shares Lemire. “They taught me
something new every time we went
        out.”
Now, he has been passing his love
for fishing onto the next generation,
like his father and grandparents did
        for him.

          “My fondest fishing memory is
        teaching my two daughters how
to fish and enjoy the outdoors,”
        says Lemire. “Also, spending time
        [fishing] with my grandmother.”
