Jim Martell Inducted into the Ontario Masters

Fastball Hall of Fame

t a special ceremony held during the OASA playdowns in
ACambridge, Ontario on July 21, 2018, Jim Martell was inducted

into the Ontario Masters Fastball Hall of Fame. Frank Marceau of
Cornwall gave a speech on Jim’s fastball career, recapping many
of the highlights. Brian O’Neil, also of Cornwall, assisted with the

presentation. Jim has been playing fastball for over 50 years and has
competed in numerous tournaments worldwide. He has competed six
times in the World Masters Games for fastball, winning gold in Italy in

2013, silver in Sydney in 2009, bronze in Portland, Oregon in 1998, and
bronze in Auckland, New Zealand in 2017. Jim’s future plans include

playing in the next World Masters Games in 2021 in Japan. Jim is well Photo Supplied
known in the Cornwall area for his fastball playing skills! Jim was
inducted in the Cornwall Sports Hall of Fame for fastball back in 2004.
