        Foreign Relations at Own The Ice

           n an era of increasing global

        that  Cornwall-based  Own  the
        Ice Hockey is doing its part to
        bring the international hockey
        community  together, by  hosting
        12  young  European  skaters  who
        are taking part in their High
        Performance Hockey Program.
          The 12 youths, who are from
        Austria and France, hit the ice 2-4
        hours a week and hit the gym 4-5
        days a week in the company of
        about 60 young Canadian hockey
        prospects born in 2005 or earlier.

          The  European  kids  are  being
        billeted with local families.  Paul
        Huntley, Seaway Rapids’ coach
        and Cornwall hockey personality,
        is hosting two young players.
        “They’re     very    polite,   very
        well-mannered, and they speak
        excellent English,” says Huntley.
        ‘It’s been great having them.”
