that Cornwall-based Own the
Ice Hockey is doing its part to
bring the international hockey
community together, by hosting
12 young European skaters who
are taking part in their High
Performance Hockey Program.
The 12 youths, who are from
Austria and France, hit the ice 2-4
hours a week and hit the gym 4-5
days a week in the company of
about 60 young Canadian hockey
prospects born in 2005 or earlier.
The European kids are being

Huntley, Seaway Rapids’ coach
and Cornwall hockey personality,
is hosting two young players.
“They’re very polite, very
well-mannered, and they speak
excellent English,” says Huntley.
‘It’s been great having them.”
