        A Canadian Masters’ Weightlifting
        Championship for Thorin Gault
was even more impressive this year
because he competed in a lower
        weight class.

the under 105 kg category. This year
he took home gold in the men’s over
45 years old, under 89 kg weight
class. He was successful in five of six
attempts with a top snatch of 105 kg
and clean and jerk of 131 kg for a 236
kg total. He won his category by 35
        kg.
“I was a bit nervous about how
losing the weight was going to affect
my strength, so I was very conservative
        in choosing my attempts,” expressed
Gault. “That ended up being a smart Thorin Gault (centre) on the podium in the M45, -89kg category. Photo Submitted
