Tony Luis Defeats Adrian Estrella

n Friday evening, June 21st, at
Othe Cornwall Civic Complex,
Tony Luis defeated WBC Continental
America’s Champion Adrian Estrella
for one of his biggest victories in
an eleven year professional boxing
career. Estrella came into the fight
with a record of 29 wins and three
losses (24 knockouts), with two of
those wins coming against former
world champions DeMarcus Corley
and Celestino Caballero. It was a
tough tactical fight that went to the
judges’ scorecards after ten rounds;
one judge having it a draw at 95-95,
and the other two judges each scoring
it 96-94 for Luis. Tony Luis had won
the fight but was unable to claim the
WBC belt because he wasn’t quite
able to make the 135 lightweight
limit; weighing in at 137 lbs.

On his Facebook page the day
