The City of Cornwall Continues to Open Recreation
Facilities with New COVID-19 Regulations in Place
By Molly Kett
OVID-19 has left many people
Cfeeling unsure of what to expect
when it comes to recreation during
upcoming summer months. However, the
City of Cornwall continues to open more
recreation facilities, with regulations in
place to make sure everyone has a fun
and safe summer.
“The big news is that three outdoor
pools and aquatic centres are opening on
Monday,” says Lorne Taillon, Supervisor
of Recreation & Programming. “That’s
part of what we’ve been working on
this week, because there are so many
different rules and regulations. For
example, the pools are open, but the
slides, whirlpools, and wading pools
are not. We can use the big pool for lane
swims, aqua fitness, and regular adult
senior swim. For the outdoor pools, we
will have public swimming and that kind
of stuff.”
The three pools opening include the
St. Francis Pool, Reg Campbell Pool,
and Mattice Pool.
“We are very happy to be opening our
facilities, but with the new guidelines
