Doug Taillon
Doug Taillon is a lifelong Cornwall
resident who has always been
interested in words and their
origin. As a teenager, Doug
began doing crossword puzzles,
eventually wondering how the
puzzles were formed – did the
words go in first or the black
squares? For the past 15 years,
Doug has been creating his own
crossword puzzles and has had
his work published in The New
York Times, The Montreal Gazette,
and Perch Magazine.

to Jules at his residence prior
to the team getting off the bus
upon returning home from a

road trip. Coach Ron Racette
loved Jules’ system as well.
Jules was the statistician for

the Royals up to the year they
won their last Memorial Cup.
They appreciated his hard
work so much that he was also Solutions on page 39
presented with a Memorial Cup
ring.

In 1971, Jules was inducted
into the Cornwall Sports Hall of
Fame in the Lacrosse category.
