Proceeds to community projects. To register or for January’s municipal political spotlight is on three-term incumbent Maurice
information www.cornwallsunriserotary.com or email Dupelle. Born and raised in Cornwall, Dupelle was first elected to City
rotaryclubofcornwallsunrise@gmail.com Council in October of 2010. A college graduate, he’s been working for the
past eleven years as the human resources manager for Community Living
Glengarry, which according to its Facebook page is a non-profit organization
that provides residential and day services and supports for individuals with a
developmental disability.
At 48 years old, Dupelle credits his family for getting him into municipal
politics. “As a father of three young children,” he says, “I wanted to give
back to my community and offer my time and abilities to the residents of
Cornwall.”
For Dupelle, the most rewarding aspect of being a councilor is being able
to help residents solve the issues before them one on one, while the most
challenging aspect is having eleven different views at the council table,
and when issues take a long time to get passed and resolved. “My political
ambition is to continue to represent residents at the council table,” he says.
“I would like to continue to advocate for transparency and accountability
for the residents of Cornwall. I would also like to continue to work towards
more accessible and affordable programs for our seniors and our youth.”
Dupelle would like voters to know that he is proud to represent them as a
councilor “If I do not have an answer to their questions,” he says, “I will seek
the information required to do so.”
