Trainer’s Corner: Dante Bean
By Casey Leger
hildhood insecurities can have a
Cvariety of effects on a person’s life.
For local businessman, entrepreneur, and
fitness enthusiast Dante Bean, being a
skinny teenager who was afraid to wear
T-shirts in public has led to a love of
hitting the gym and a passion for helping
others meet their fitness goals. “I wore
long sleeves all the time,” Bean explains,
“even in the heat.”
Bean says he began pursuing an
interest in fitness in high school. After
graduating, he attended Algonquin
College and eventually earned a Fitness
and Health Promotions certificate. He’s
also a Canfitpro certified personal trainer,
and he has a Paul Chek Hollistic HLC1
designation & Nutritional coaching
background.
“At the end of the day,” says Bean,
helping people is a good feeling.”
How does Bean help people? Health
and fitness. Bean’s fledgeling business,
A Healthy You, is a one stop shop for
fitness needs. He provides personal
training and coaching in his private gym,
he offers diet plans, and customers can
order supplements through his online
shop, www.ahealthyyou.ca .
Like many young adults, Bean’s
life has been seriously affected by the
pandemic. He was well on his way to a
career as a personal trainer at Movatis in
Ottawa when COVID hit hard. “I made
plans and pivoted to an on-line model,”
says Bean, “and ahealthyyou was born.”
Although spots for personal training
and coaching in his private gym are
booking quickly, Bean says he always
has room for a couple more. “My goal
is to make people comfortable,” he says,
“so they get the most out of their work
out.”
Anyone interested in contacting
Bean about his business and services,
