        numbers reduced. many of the
leagues are running just one draw.
        Membership numbers are down
because of COVID and the fact
that we lost a complete curling
        season in 2019/2020. Hopefully
we see a resurgence of new and
        returning members over the next
        couple of years.
          On the professional side of
        curling, the hometown favorite
        Team Epping has played several
events to start the season. The
        team participated in the Oakville
        Tankard on the weekend of
September 2nd to the 6th and
they got as far as the quarter finals
        before being eliminated from
play. The following weekend, Opening Bonspiel B Champs

          Team Epping participated in
the Grand Slam Masters on the

weekend of October 19th to the
24th. The format for the Grand
Slam events is a triple knock out
event with a team having to win
3 games before losing 3 games
to advance to the playoffs. The
Epping team won their 1st game
        over Switzerland’s Schwaller then
lost to Gushue, Jacobs, and Edin

        resulting in elimination. The next
event for the Epping Team will
be in Chestermere, Alberta at the
        Boost National Grand Slam.
