South Branch Garage presents
“Game On” in South Glengarry
Meet our Athletes
Exilia Tardif
Grade: Kindergarten
School: L’École élémentaire Catholique de l’Ange-Gardien
South Glengarry’s athlete for December is 5-year-old Exilia
Tardiff. Although just starting out with school and sports, this
spunky gal has a lot to say about athletics. “I like to play soccer,
go skating, do gymnastics, and I like to do highland dancing and
tap dancing too!” she exclaims.
As young as Exilia is, she is already aware of the benefits of
participating in sports. “You should play sports because they get
you stronger,” she explains about why kids should play sports.
What Exilia likes most about playing sports is running and
learning new skills. She loves exercises like jumping jacks and
she enjoys learning from different coaches. She explains that sometimes sports can be hard, like
when you have to kick the ball in soccer.
One sporting event that Exilia would like to try is the Sportsball program run out of the
Alexandria Dome. “My sister Poppy goes to Sportsball, and she gets to try all sports with a
ball. It looks so fun!” she explains.
Like many young kids, Exilia enjoys making up games and playing them with others. “I love
playing Uppy with my cousins. Uppy is the game where you keep the balloon in the air, and it
can’t hit the ground.”
Perhaps Exilia is headed for a future in volleyball?
When asked about other things she likes, Exilia emphatically shared that she likes school
because she loves learning, especially learning about numbers. “My favourite number is 100,”
she states.
When she grows up, Exilia hopes to be a singer and a teacher.
