U13 Typhoons Continue to Roll
The Cornwall Typhoons U13 Tier 1 team continues to dominate the
competition with another two tournament Gold Medals recently. The
Typhoons won the title in their home tournament on October 30th,
with an impressive 4-0 win over Napanee. Once again, the theme was
selfless team play as the Girts continued to get better at finding the
open teammate and moving the puck quickly. The team then added
more hardware to the collection on Sunday, November 27th, with a
strong 5-0 dispatch of the North York Storm in the finals of the CanAm
tournament played in Pierrefonds. Again, the Girls played a “team
first” game and moved the puck well in all areas of the ice. Coach Tracy
Zettler commented, “the girls are really working hard to play the game
the right way and it’s paying off with great results…, we are really
looking forward to our next tournament, (the Carolynne Ouellette in
Montreal), when our girls will face a much tougher test. These recent
tournament successes have pushed the team’s record to 23-0-3 on the Heads up Hockey
season with an incredible 111 goals for while allowing only 8 against in
26 games. Photo Submitted or an outdoor
