BORN: Michel was born and raised in Quebec. He met his wife,
Shirley, in Inuvik, N.W.T. She is from Alberta. They have a son and
a daughter.
CAREER: Michel was in the Royal Canadian Navy for thirty-six
years. He retired as a Petty Officer 2nd Class. Michel travelled the
world as a Telecommunications Operator and Translator (Spanish). He
also did seven tours at our base in Alert, Nunavut. It is 450 miles from

OSGA INTERESTS
Michel enjoys competing in OSGA Curling and Golf. His Winchester
Curling team won a bronze medal in the Huntsville Provincial
Games. He has also curled at Cobourg and Haliburton Provincial Games. He has golfed in District 8
competitions for eight years. Most recently at the Eastern Regional Games in Smith Falls this summer.
Michel would like to encourage District 8 curling teams to play against each other annually, not just
SAVE 50 % to qualify for the Provincial competition. The teams could alternate around the SDG curling clubs.
