        By Molly Kett

             ocal fisherman Kris Alexander

Lmay be young, but he’s quite
experienced when it comes to the

sport of fishing. In fact, he has
been working as a fishing guide

        in Northwestern Ontario for the
past nine summers. He started out
as a dock hand and a maintenance
person, and then after a few years,
he transitioned to the role as
one of the head fishing guides at

        Nielsen’s Fly-In Lodge.
“My fourth summer was the year
my parents had bought the lodge
and taken the business over,” says
Alexander. “So, I became the Head
        Guide and Manager of Operations
        at the camp.”

          Now, the camp is called
        Alexander’s on Rowan.
          Alexander has always enjoyed
being outdoors and enjoying what Kris and 92-year-old WWII Veteran, Eddy, with his big catch! Photo Submitted
