The Team that Almost Wasn’t Wins the Championship
By Shawn O’Brien
he Seaway Valley Spartans
TMinor Midget B Rep team
has won the Upper Canada Minor
Hockey League Minor Midget B
Rep Championship.
What this team has accomplished
this season, considering there was
no minor midget hockey being
offered in the eastern portion
of the UCMHL back in the fall
of 2016, is remarkable. It was
Mark Desnoyers, President of the
Seaway Valley Minor Hockey
Association who offered to host
this team. The team is comprised
of players from the Cornwall and
South Stormont area.
The Spartans turned out to be
a strong team in the five-team
UCMHL minor midget division,
collecting 13 wins and 6 ties in 24
contests; finishing second. 1st Row - Jack McLean, Braeden Levac, Pat Campeau, Jared Sequin, Mick Miller, Evan Brunet, Trentan
